Have you and all your friends registered? Whether you're going to be silent all day or just at lunch hour register your DOS observance at our sister site: StudentOrganizing.org.
Why register? Every person who registers with GLSEN's Student Organizing site shows that they are committed to safe schools. That number is an important way to demonstrate the great impact that the Day of Silence has in schools and communities across the country. It only takes a few moments to sign up and be counted and your registration can make a big difference.
As of today the Day of Silence will be observed in nearly 4000 schools April 17th. But we're still two weeks away. Let's get that number a whole lot higher.
Remember: Don’t just participate, REGISTER!

Let go of the paranoia and allow the DOS to include all abuse equally and you will get more support.
You kids need to grow up a bit and understand that the people opposing this action are not "anti-gay". That has nothing to do with it. This is not appropriate for school time. No one needs to know what your preferences are behind closed doors any more than any one elses. Just stick to learning and let's see how that works. OK?
it's not about letting our preferences be known any more than asking people to understand there are people different from thierself. I mean if striaght people can fluant it all over and show pda why cant we. We would be more foucsed on school if we felt welcome and didn't feel like the whole school was against us, maybe if we weren't constantly being threatened and the school cared about our saftey. I also believe being silent wont affect our learing. other than us not talking the day would be exactly the same, also less talking= less distractions. so you say theres no room 4 silence. becuase i'm pretty sure that my teachers are always telling us to remain silent.
